Shinchō

Shincho (Japanese新潮) is a monthly published since May 1904 by Verlag Shinchosha literary magazine. The journal publishes the winners of Yasunari Kawabata Prize for Literature, the Mishima Prize and the Hagiwara - Sakutaro Prize for Poetry. Current editor in chief since 2003 Yuno Yutaka.

It belongs next to Gunzo (群像) Bungakukai (文学界), Subaru (すばる) and Bungei (文艺) to the 5 major literary magazines in Japan.
