The Schinnik Stadium (Russian Стадион " Шинник ") is a football stadium with track and field facility in the Russian city of Yaroslavl Oblast in the same name. The football club Schinnik Yaroslavl, currently in its second Russian league, receives his opponents in the municipal sports center.

History

The stadium in Yaroslavl was opened after five years of construction in 1928. The plant covers an area of ​​101 639 m2 and offers visitors 22,900 seats. In the grandstand, which is covered only a small part, about 45 VIP box seats and a press box are 69 jobs. With an illuminance of 1200 lux, the four steel framework masts of the floodlights, the venue is illuminated. In 2002, the stadium received, at the time, the largest video scoreboard in Russia. Mid-2008 began the renovation of the stadium with the target; to renew the stands and roofing over the main stand and the two curves. The opposite stand to the east lies directly on a street and can not be enlarged or covered.

The transformation of the stadium but was stopped in the face of Russia's application to the Football World Cup in 2018 and completed only the South Stand in August 2010. The city of Yaroslavl is one of the proposed venues for the World Cup. On 22 May 2011, the Russian Football Cup Final took place in Yaroslavl in the stadium. The CSKA Moscow defeated Alania Vladikavkaz 2-1 in.
