The district Šiauliai ( German district of Siauliai ) was one of the ten counties that made up the top step of the administrative division of Lithuania from 1994 to 30 June 2010.

Administrative divisions

The district Šiauliai comprised seven of the 60 - continue to exist - self-governing municipalities ( savivaldybės ), which are mounted higher than German municipalities and smaller than German " counties ". In the district of Šiauliai there is a ' township ' and six ' Rajongemeinden ' ( rajono savivaldybės ), which consist of smaller towns and villages ( inhabitants on 1 January 2006)
