Sidney De Paris

Sidney De Paris (* May 30, 1905 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, † September 13, 1967 in New York City ) was an American jazz trumpeter, the traditional New Orleans jazz and swing played.

From 1926 to 1931 he played with the Paradise Ten Charlie Johnson, then with the McKinney 's Cotton Pickers and from 1932 to 1936 and 1939 with Don Redman; he took 1939 with Jelly Roll Morton, played from 1939 to 1941 with Zutty Singleton, 1940/1941 with Benny Carter and 1941 with Art Hodes. In 1938 he took part in the Panassie sessions in Paris with Sidney Bechet, Mezz Mezzrow and Tommy Ladnier, with whom he recorded in 1940. In 1944 he took up as a leader for Blue Note and Commodore Records, and in 1951 for Blue Note. He is the brother of the trombonist and composer Wilbur De Paris (1900-1973), with his New New Orleans Jazz Band, he constantly appeared from 1947. In the 1960s, he finished his career due to illness.
