Sidney Frank

Sidney Edward Frank ( born October 2, 1919 in Montville, Connecticut, USA, † 10 January 2006 in New York, NY) was an American spirit merchant, art collector and philanthropist.

Sidney was by Grey Goose ( vodka) and Jägermeister billionaire.

He grew up in Norwich and graduated in 1937 at the Norwich Academy. Later he went to Brown University, but these had to leave after a year because he tuition fees could no longer afford. During the Second World War he worked for Pratt and Whitney as a mechanic. 1972, after the death of his first wife, he founded the Sidney Frank Importing Company in New York and began the trade of spirits on. His first success was the Brandy brand Jacques Cardin, which he bought in 1979 from Seagram. In the 1980s, he imported Jägermeister and had so sensational success. In 1992, he had with Grey Goose Vodka success and sold the brand later for 2 billion U.S. dollars to Bacardi.

He was ranked 185 of the wealthiest Americans.
