Geographical location

The district Siegelbach is about 7 km from the center of Kaiserslautern, and is surrounded by the state of Bruch, from the Palatinate Forest and the North Palatine Uplands.

Climate

Siegelbach lies within the temperate zone with precipitation in all seasons. Compared to other regions of Germany Siegelbach has a fairly warm and very sunny climate. Due to its location in the Hunsrück and Eifel Lee of rainfall in Northwest weather conditions are usually held.

History

In 1233 Siegelbach is first mentioned. The village was then in the possession of the lords of Hohenecken. One of these was called Siegfried: on him the name of the village goes back, as his Middle High German term of endearment was Sigelîn ( Siggilein ) and so Sigelînbach arose. Syncopated bathes the village in the 14th century in the documents as Siglnbach.

On June 7, 1969 Siegelbach is incorporated into the city of Kaiserslautern.

In the village there are two bakeries, a butcher, a pharmacy, two savings bank branches and a small grocery store. Health care is supported by a community general practice, a dentist and two physiotherapists.

Education

Siegelbach has a kindergarten ( Protestant ) and a private Christian school, "Paul- Gerhardt- school Kaiserslautern". This is a nationally recognized Elementary and junior high school plus.

Furthermore, the district has a branch of the city library Kaiserslautern.

Traffic

From 1912 to 1972 Siegelbach was connected via the so-called Bach path that led from Lampertsmühle - Otterbach station until after Weilerbach and from 1920 until after Reichenbach to the rail network. KL- Siegelbach is accessible via a connection point to the Federal Highway 6 (exit Kaiserslautern-West ), two exits on the highway 270 ( KL- Siegelbach ) and from the neighboring village of Rodenbach (Pfalz ).

By bus the place can be reached through the following lines: 101, 139, 140 and 141 The line 101 is by Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern ( SWK ) served. The lines 139, 140 and 141 takes over the Saar Palatinate bus. A clock traffic to the core city is available since December 2008.

In Siegelbach the BIC is - the Business and Innovation Centre. This is a commercial area in which IT companies are mainly located. Advantages of this centralization are good contacts with other companies and to the nearby University of Kaiserslautern.
