The Siemens Arena, a multifunctional hall in Vilnius (Lithuania ), is capable of up to 12,500 seats ( depending on the event ) is currently the largest and most modern event hall in the Baltics.

History

The Siemens Arena was built by the Lithuanian energy company Rubicon Group (President Andrius Janukonis ). The naming rights was the German company Siemens. The grand opening took place on 30 October 2004.

Use

The Arena is the new venue for the basketball club BC Lietuvos Rytas. But it should also other events such as Concerts, shows and gatherings serve.

On 12 October 2009 the Russian hockey club Ak Bars Kazan and SKA St. Petersburg clashed in a match of the Continental Hockey League in the Siemens Arena. Moreover, it was the Siemens Arena hosted the Division I Ice Hockey World Championship in 2009.

2011 is the hall of a Lithuanian six venues for the European Basketball Championship for men.
