A special feature in the supplied accessories represented the headphones of Sennheiser, which were also used as a speakerphone.

Product history

Although the SL 45 was already well equipped and with the MP3 player represented a real useful novelty, it could not prevail on the market. It was ahead of its time, because the MP3 player boom began only a few years later. In addition, the display technology of the SL 45 was quickly overtaken and polyphonic ringtones could not be used as well. Thus, the SL 45 was quickly superseded by newer models. Also obstacle was the high purchase price.

The SL models 55 and 65 were made to design devices and MP3 players fell into oblivion. Only when the boom was in full swing, the 75er series with MP3 functions was offered, but because the end was sealed with the transition to Benq.

Extensibility

It is possible to provide the phone over so-called flash patches with other functions.

Model similarities

Similar or Subsequent models were the SL45i, SL42 and SL42i that largely had the same hardware, but differed in software and equipment.
