Sierra de Albarracín Comarca

The Sierra de Albarracin is a mountainous section of the Iberian mountain range which forms a Comarca (administrative unit ) of the Aragon Autonomous Community in Spain. The area is located in the southwest of Aragon in the province of Teruel. The comarca covers an area of ​​1414 km ² and has 4,961 inhabitants. The capital is Albarracin, the largest of the 25 associated municipalities.

The Sierra de Albarracin is bordered to the west by the province of Guadalajara, on the north by the Comarca del Jiloca, to the east by the Comunidad de Teruel and on the south by the province of Cuenca.

Besides Albarracin include the communities Beza, Bronchales, Calomarde, Frias de Albarracin, Gea de Albarracin, Griegos, Guadalaviar, Jabaloyas, Mont de Albarracín, Moscardón, Noguera de Albarracin, Orihuela del Tremedal, Pozondón, Ródenas Royuela, Rubiales, Saldón, Terri duck, Toril y Masegoso, Torres de Albarracin, Tramacastilla, Valdecuenca, El Vallecillo and Villar del Cobo to the Comarca.

The main economic activities in the Comarca are livestock and forestry.

In the cultural heritage the capital Albarracin stands out which has a cathedral and a former castle with a long Walling. In the vicinity are beyond cave paintings that are 6000-1500 years old. On their honeymoon, visited Crown Prince Felipe and Leticia Ortiz Albarracin.
