Felipe, Prince of Asturias

Felipe of Spain ( Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso de Todos los Santos y de Borbón y Grecia, born January 30, 1968 in Madrid) is a Spanish heir to the throne, Prince of Asturias, Prince of Girona, son of King Juan Carlos I of Spain and his wife Sophia, grandson of Paul I of Greece and Friederike of Hanover.

Life

Prince Felipe began his academic career at the Colegio Santa María de los Rosales in Madrid and graduated 1985 in Lakefield College School, Toronto, Ontario, Canada from. From 1985-1988 he held various positions in the three branches of the armed forces of the Spanish Army: Army, Navy and Air Force. Prince Felipe married on 22 May 2004 in Madrid Letizia Ortiz. Together they have two children:

  • The second child, Sofia, was born on 29 April 2007 at the Hospital Ruber Internacional, Madrid and baptized on 15 July 2007 at the Palacio de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
