The Sierra de Famatina (also Nevado de Famatina, Cerro Famatina, Cumbre de Cerro Mejicana or Belgrano ) is a mountain Stock east of the Argentinean Andes west of La Rioja ( Argentina). It is 6250 m, according to other sources 6097 m high and therefore one of the highest peaks in the country.

Like all Sierras Pampeanas part of the Famatina not to the Andes, but is a standalone, the Andes upstream mountain floor. Due to its altitude, the mountain is heavily glaciated. The summit area is divided into three distinct peaks: In addition to the main summit Blanco or Alto there is still the minor peak Negro and Rosillo. At the main summit, the boundaries of the four departments Famatina, Chilecito, Vinchina and General Lamadrid meet.

The name Cerro Cerro General Belgrano Belgrano or refers to the politician and General Manuel Belgrano.

In the Sierra de Famatina gold and silver ore were mined in the first half of the 20th century. With a for that time highly unusual, 35 km long and 3500 m above writhing material ropeway the ore was transported to the valley. Remains of this cable car can still be seen at 4500 m above sea level today.

East of the Sierra de Famatina, a wine-growing area attracts to the Sierra de Velasco, are produced in the most Rioja wines.
