Siltronic

Siltronic AG is a manufacturer of ultra-pure silicon wafers, the basis for the modern micro-and nanotechnology. The company is headquartered in Munich, is a 100 % subsidiary of Wacker Chemie and the only significant European producer of wafers for the semiconductor industry.

Siltronic AG was founded in 1968 as Wacker Burghausen Chemitronic GmbH and in 1994 changed its name to Wacker Siltronic GmbH. The change of name to a corporation ( Wacker Siltronic AG ) was 1996. 2004 AG was renamed in Siltronic instead.

Siltronic AG provides at its two production locations in Germany Burghausen and Freiberg and at various sites in Asia and the U.S. silicon wafers with diameters up to 300 mm forth. Siltronic is a member of the association / industry association Silicon Saxony.

The silicon wafers are offered with the dopants boron, phosphorus, antimony and arsenic. When drawing process both the Czochralski and the zone method can be used.

Investments

Siltronic is to Siltronic Samsung Wafer Pte. Ltd.. involved, a joint venture with Samsung. The joint venture is in a factory in Singapore ago 300 mm wafers.
