Silvana Armenulić

Silvana Armenulić (* as Zilha Barjaktarević May 18, 1939 in Doboj, † October 10, 1976 in Kolari ) was a famous Yugoslav folk singer.

Your singing career started early and after they had reached a certain level of recognition in their Bosnian homeland, she moved to Belgrade. She changed her name following the actress Silvana Mangano and married the tennis player Radmilo Armenulić.

Her career developed rapidly and it soon became one of the most commercially successful singers in Yugoslavia. Her songs, such as " Moj Dilbere " ( " My Beloved ") and " mi srce pati Nocas " ( "Tonight my heart suffers " ) gained nationwide notoriety. Her repertoire included both contemporary folk music and traditional Sevdalinka music. In the early 1970s she starred in several feature and television films.

Silvana Armenulić died in a car accident along with her sister Mirjana Barjaktarević.
