Silviu Bindea

Silviu Bindea ( born October 24, 1912 in Blaj, Alba County, Romania, † March 6, 1992 ) was a Romanian football player and football coach. He completed 159 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1934 and the FIFA World Cup 1938.

Playing career

Silviu Bindea began his career with his hometown club Cluj România. After the founding of the Romanian Professional Football League Divizia A in 1932, he joined Ripensia Timişoara. There he spent the most successful period of his career, winning four times the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup twice. During his one-year stint with CAM Timişoara, he joined while still a striker out, but could not build on his earlier successes, even after his return to Ripensia. During the Second World War, he played a season for CFR Turnu Severin and celebrated his third Cup win of the times.

National

Bindea denied a total of 27 games for the Romanian national football team. His debut celebrated on October 16, 1932 against Austria. He participated in the Soccer World Cup 1934 in Italy and part of the World Cup in France in 1938, where he got each one use.

Coaching career

His active career jumped Bindea twice as a coach in his home sporting a Timişoara. First he trained Locomotiva Timişoara from 1955 until relegation in 1956, in the 1960/61 season, he took over for half a year StiinTa Timişoara.
