Simeon Nyachae

Simeon Nyachae ( born 1932 ) is a Kenyan politician.

Biography

After visiting the middle school and the sovereignty of Kenya on 12 December 1963, he began a career in government service and was initially district officer and later provincial commissioner. After working as a Permanent Secretary and then as chief secretary of the central government, he was last cabinet secretary and head of the civil service.

He was first elected Member of Parliament in 1992, where he held until 2007 represented the interests of the constituency Nyaribari Chache after the elections in 1997 and on 27 December 2002. In 1996, he was the founder of the Forum For The Restoration Of Democracy - People ( FORD -P), which he is chairman since then.

In January 1998, President Daniel arap Moi appointed him Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet. After a cabinet reshuffle, he should actually be on 18 February 1999 Minister of Industry, but refrained and stood back.

On November 18, 2006, he was appointed by arap Moi's successor, Mwai Kibaki to the Minister for Roads and Public Works in the government. This office he retained until the inauguration of the new Prime Minister Raila Odinga in April 2008.
