Simon Best

Simon Best ( born February 11, 1978 in Craigavon ​​, County Armagh, Northern Ireland ) is a former Northern Irish rugby union player. He played on the position of Prop. He is the older brother of Rory Best

Best studied agriculture at Newcastle University. From 1999 to 2008 he played for the national rugby union team from Ulster, who plays in the Celtic League. He won with Ulster as team captain the championship of the Celtic League 2005/06. In 118 games, he scored 25 points.

Between 2003 and 2008, he completed 23 games for the Irish rugby union team and scored 5 points.

During the Rugby Union World Cup 2007, he had to be admitted in Bordeaux on 26 September due to paralysis in a hospital. In 2008, he was forced to resign due to heart problems from active rugby.
