Jonathan Simon Dawkins ( born December 1, 1987 in Edgware ) is an English footballer. Dawkins comes from the youth section of Tottenham Hotspur, where he, from a short time apart as a free player, stood the entire time of his career under contract. Dawkins, both the wings and the attacking midfielder position record on and is used to some extent as a true striker. He currently plays on loan at Derby County.
Career
Dawkins came 2004, the youth department of the Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur at. In 2008, he ventured into professional cadres and stood in the first round of the UEFA Cup in the squad. Other applications, however, Dawkins did not at first, before he was awarded in July 2008 for half a year at third division Leyton Orient. In the Orient, he made his league debut as well as his trophy and so came to a total of twelve missions.
His expiring in summer 2009 contract was not renewed, so Dawkins initially looked for a new employer. After a trial with Racing Strasbourg and an injury Dawkins decided to participate without a contract in the training of the Spurs. After further training at Celtic and AFC Bournemouth and the continued training at Tottenham he was rewarded there in March 2011 with a new professional contract, which has 2013 valid until June.
Just one day after signing the new agreement Dawkins was awarded in the U.S. Major League Soccer to the San Jose Earthquakes. With the team Dawkins secured in the second season, the MLS Supporters' Shield, awarded to the best point in the season team. In the subsequent play-offs the Earthquakes failed in the quarterfinals. After 53 games and 14 goals scored Dawkins returned to England in January 2013.
On the last day of the transfer window, he was awarded for the remainder of the 2012/13 season at Tottenham's Premier League rivals Aston Villa, where he later was little his debut in the Premier League.
Personal
Dawkins is eligible to play for the Jamaican national team since his grandparents came from the Caribbean island to England, and would like to play for them according to his own statement.
