Simone Mathes

Simone Mathes ( born March 13, 1975 in Stadtsteinach ) is a German hammer thrower.

In her youth, she began with the discus throw, but switched because of their small body size for the hammer throw. Overall, they put 1994 on five national records, as last on May 15, 1999, Halle ( Saale) with 67.13 m. Also it was five times German Champion ( 1993, 1994, 1997-1999).

In 1997 she won silver at the U23 Europaeisterschaften. At the European Championships in 1998, she finished fourth and at the World Athletics Championships 1999 Seventh.

On 31 May 2004, she scored in Frankish -Crumbach with 67.97 m personal best. They had thus achieved the Olympic A standard, but was ousted at the German Championships in the last attempt by Susanne wedge to fourth place and therefore missed the part in the Olympic Games in Athens.

Simone Mathes is 1,71 m tall and weighs 77 kg. She is Master Sergeant in the personnel department of the Bundeswehr in Cologne Longerich and currently competes for the LAZ Troisdorf / Siegburg, after she had, inter alia, for the UAC Kulmbach and TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen active before.
