Sings the Songs That Made Him Famous is the second studio album by country singer Johnny Cash. It was released on November 13, 1958 at Sun Records and was produced by Sam Phillips and Jack Clement. Shortly before the release cash was switched to Columbia Records. The album contains three number one hits on the country charts and also re- release of Cash's first chart - Leader I Walk the Line.

Unlike his first album With His Hot and Blue Guitar, the songs on this LP act predominantly of love relationships. While cash backing vocals on Ballad of a Teenage Queen liked, he found that the song Guess Things Happen That Way by was " completely ruined ". Both titles reached the top of the country charts. Guess Things Happen That Way also reached # 11 on the pop charts and was Cash's biggest hit at Sun Records in the pop singles chart.

Producer Clement, who wrote both songs, Ballad of a Teenage Queen was " so cute that it could plunge into a diabetic coma ." During a promotional visit to Canada chose cash after each performance the audience the Teenage Queen of the evening. One of the winners, died under tragic circumstances, which is why the second-placed nachrückte; it was the singer Joni Mitchell.
