The Sioux Lookout Airport, in English Sioux Lookout Airport, is the airport of the city of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada.

History

The Sioux Lookout Airport was put into operation in 1933. In the mid-1930s, the airport was one of the busiest in North America, some designated airport even as the second most important of the continent. In the subsequent period, however, the airport lost greatly in importance. 1974 sold the owner, the " Federal Department of Transportation" to the Airport to the community of Sioux Lookout. The current terminal was inaugurated in 1995 and was originally designed for 48,000 passengers a year. Due to the increased volume, the airport had therefore shortly thereafter expand the building. In the passenger business today are the two airlines Wasaya Airways Bearskin Airlines and active.
