Sisavang Vong

Sisavang Vong ( full throne name Somdet Chao Maha Sri Brhat Vitha Lan Chang Hom Khao Lao Parama Sidha Khattiya Brhat Rajanachakra Suriya Varman Brhat Sri Maha Savangsa Varman, Sisavangvong; * July 14, 1885 in Luang Phrabang, † October 29, 1959 same place ) was from 1904 to 1949 King of the under French protectorate of Laos Kingdom of Luang Prabang and then to 1959 King of Laos.

Life

Sisavang Vong was born a prince ( Anga Sadek Chao Fa Jaya ) Khao; He was the eldest son of King Sakkalin of Luang Prabang (r. 1895-1904 ) and his second wife, Queen ( Somdej Brhat Rajini Akkhara Sri Maha ) Dungsiri ( Sri Thong ).
