His two-axle variant of the KB -117, which was produced from 1964 to 1969. Both variants only a few copies were produced.

Planning

Since it was assumed in the 1960s that international road transport to Central and Western Europe would increase greatly, the desire came on after a so-called cab-over truck, which already in the UK have had good experience. In other European countries Cabover were at the same time introduced by various manufacturers, which is also the SAT company and its customers was not noticed because on the same footprint, which was dictated by the respective national legislation, both sufficient sleeping space and a larger cargo volume could be achieved.

The previous land from Finland via the Swedish town of Haparanda to Central and Western Europe was quite long, as the direct route for maritime transport on the Baltic Sea to Sweden is not yet sufficiently developed at the time for the truck transport, creating a long road transport was necessary.

Creating a front link was not a big step for SAT, because the company had already developed the Cabover models KB-102/KB-107 for the Finnish state. As a small manufacturer SAT wanted to meet the customers' desire for a new cab model according to the latest state of the art. The main problem was to allow easy access to the engine for maintenance and repair work. The work was started with a blank sheet of paper. The cabin was a simple design and has been furnished with a neat behind the seats bed. The service problem was solved with a tiltable cab. The cabin ergonomics development, especially that of the driving position and instrument panel assembly, was supported by interviews with more than a hundred truck drivers.

The KB -112 was the first European production truck with a hydraulically tilting cabin.

Production

The first KB -112 truck was produced in 1962 and approved and the company W. Rosenlew & Co. Oy, passed in January 1963 in a special ceremony, where the press was present. The company SAT specifically highlighted the positive features of the new cab vehicle, while the negative aspects were not mentioned. Rosenlew representative Mr. A. Vaarne said that, compared to a conventional cab with a bed, the new cabin type would allow a greater by 3 m² cargo area, within the limits of contemporary legislation. The truck transporting wood from the sawmill in Seikku to Mäntyluotoer harbor.

The two-axis KB -117, already with a more powerful engine, in 1964 came on the market. SAT mentioned in 1969 is no longer in the models KB-112/117 their lists, but it is possible that some vehicles have been prepared in a special request. The new M- series has taken in 1970 in place of the KB models.
