Planning
Based on the experience with the Sisu A-45 and newer, heavier guns, the Finnish armed forces had recognized that stronger vehicles have become necessary. Sisu - Auto has then decide to start a new moderately difficult terrain truck project.

Production
In the standard model, a more powerful engine with 150 kW was installed with the model name SA- 150th The serial production began in Hämeenlinna in 1982 and the first delivery batch of ten vehicles was handed over to the armed forces in October of the same year. From the momentous year there were annual production of about 60 pieces. Almost all the vehicles were produced in Hämeenlinna, with the exception of two small lots of delivery made in Karis.
