Sisu A-45
The Sisu A- 45 is a 1970 imported trucks of the Finnish vehicle manufacturer Suomen Autoteollisuus ( SAT). The two-axle, four-wheel -drive truck with a payload of 4150 kg is the successor to the almost identical Sisu KB - 45, which was developed on behalf of the Finnish Defence Forces.
Planning
The A -45 is technically based on its predecessor KB - 45th The main difference are the axes, since the A- 45 the Kirkstall axles were replaced by those of SAT.
Production and use
The predecessor KB -45 has been produced in the satellite factory in Karis. In 1969 merged with SAT Vanajan Autotehdas (VAT), after which the production of the A -45 was moved to the old VAT plant in Hämeenlinna. For capacity reasons, but also some A-45 were still made in Karis.
Such as KB -45 A-45 has also been referred to as " protocol ", which was derived from prototyyppi (prototype).
The " protos " were replaced by the new Sisu A2045 in the Finnish armed forces.
Specifications
Motor
The engine is a six cylinder in-line diesel engine with direct injection. The naturally aspirated engine has an output of 103 kW at a torque of 393 Nm. The stronger version is equipped with a turbocharger and has a maximum output of 110 kW and 468 Nm of torque.
Transmission and chassis
About a fully synchronized five-speed transmission and a two-speed reduction gear, the two axes are driven. Both axles are also equipped with planetary gear and lockable differentials. Both axles are provided with longitudinal leaf springs; the front axle with additional shock absorbers. The Pneumatic hand brake acts on the rear axle.
Chassis
The steering is assisted by a hydraulic power. The tire size on both axes is 14.5-20 ", in individual tires. The tank capacity is 210 liters. The electrical system features 840 watts and 24 volts with two 145 Ah batteries. At the rear there is a trailer tow. Standard accessories includes, among other a winch with 6.5 tonnes capacity and 60 meters of steel section length. The winch is to use both front and rear.
Cabin and cargo area
The cabin is made of steel and fiberglass. The roof is removable. All windows are made of safety glass and the side windows and the windshield can be opened. There are seats for the driver and two passengers; the driver seat is adjustable. The comprehensive instrument panel includes a tachometer.
The loading frame is made of steel and the floor is made of wood Kunststoffimprägniertem. Access is from the rear. The cargo area is equipped with a removable tarpaulin.
Properties
The largest load capacity is 4150 kg and the trailer shall have a maximum of 4000 kg on the road and in flat terrain. In difficult terrain the maximum load capacity is limited to 2,500 kg and the towing capacity of 2,000 kg. The turning radius is 7 m. Both the maximum gradeability, and the side gear be 38 °. The ground clearance is 340 mm.
Variants
As the KB -45 there is also an A-45 variant with the Sisu Nemo transmission system for a hydraulically driven trailer. These vehicles are referred to as the AH -45. The hydraulic system increases the transport capacity, so that the maximum weight of 8000 kg and a Einachsanhängers Zweiachsanhängers may be 12,000 kg.
