Skaldowie

Skaldowie ( in the German language The Skald ) is a Polish rock music group that was founded in the summer of 1965 in Krakow. The founders were professional musicians, students and graduates of the Cracow Academy of Music: Andrzej Zielinski ( pianist, composer, singer ), his brother Jacek Zielinski ( violin and trumpet ), Zygmunt Kaczmarski (guitarist ), Janusz Kaczmarski ( violinist ), Feliks Naglicki (bass guitar) and Jerzy Fasiński (drums).

The group's name indicates that the band follows on the Scandinavian skald tradition.

They took a significant place in the Polish rock music scene. Their third LP Cała jesteś w skowronkach ( " You're all flying around of larks " ) is regarded as one of the best records in their careers. This title plate found its place in everyday language and means something like " get into joyful enthusiasm ". A big part of their success, they owe the texts that come from Agnieszka Osiecka, Wojciech Młynarski and Leszek Aleksander Moczulski. Many compositions contain elements of highland folk music. Approximately 1970-1973 Skaldowie played progressive rock. Some titles are written at that time almost 20 minutes and in addition borrows from folk musical quotations of classical music. Around 1990, took off the popularity of the band, so that hardly any new albums have been published.

In 2010, the musician celebrated the 45th anniversary of the group.
