Skarø

Skarø is a Danish island in the "Danish Southern Seas " south of Funen. The island belongs to the parish municipality (Danish Sogn ) Drejø Sogn, the office belonged to the Danish municipal reform 1970 Harde Sund Herred in the former Svendborg, then to the Svendborg municipality in the former County of Funen and since the municipal reform of 1 January 2007 for advanced Svendborg municipality in the region Syddanmark.

The island has an area of 1.97 km ² and 33 inhabitants (1 January 2013). There is a ferry and marina on the north coast. There are ferry connections to the neighboring island of southwestern Drejø and to Svendborg on Funen.

Skarø belongs to the Association of Danish small islands.
