Skarface
Skarface is a French ska band that was founded in 1991.
Name
The band's name is derived from the English " Scarface " ( German: " Scarface " ), and is an allusion to the music played direction of ska. However, the name is also an allusion to the Mafia movie Scarface, to tie in with the Mafia Image of the 1980 Skawelle.
Music
The texts of Skarface act of human values , respect and compassion and a clear message against violence. The band describes itself as apolitical. However, due to the fact that some members of the band are skinheads, the band was often rejected, but this seems almost nonsensical at a closer look and listen closely.
After more than eleven albums and dozens of compilations, the band is still active and giving concerts around the world (eg China, Russia, Greece, Japan, USA, Canada and Europe).

The title of the album " Skankuat Nec Mergitur " is a modification of the sentence " fluctuat nec mergitur " ( Latin for " it floats but does not sink "). This rate is below the ship, which serves as an emblem of the French capital Paris. The modification is to allude to the fact that Skarface after so many albums is still full splendor and power in the music business.
