Skarpnäck (borough)

Skarpnäck is a municipality in the south of Stockholm. It has about 40,000 inhabitants. The municipality is divided into the districts Hammarbyhöjden, Björkhagen, Enskededalen, Kärrtorp, Bagarmossen, Skarpnäcks Gård, Flaten, Orhem and Skrubba. In the 1950s, the city district was connected by two lines of subway with the Stockholm city center.

The building was begun in the 1920s. First, villas and smaller single-family homes and from 1930, a multi-family buildings. In the borough begins Sweden's biggest long-distance footpath, the Sörmlandsleden, with over 1,000 km in length.
