Skaštice

Skaštice ( German Skaschtitz, formerly Skaschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north of Kroměříž and belongs to Okres Kroměříž.

Geography

Skaštice is on the left of the Moštěnka in the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). Leads through the village of Graben Stonáč. South of the town runs the D1 motorway, there is also the exit 260 Kroměříž -východ.

Neighboring towns are U Mlýna, Kyselovice, Žalkovice and Břest in the north, Němčice and Rymice in the northeast, Pravčice in the east, Hulin in the southeast, Bílany and Kroměříž in the south, Horni Zahrady, Miňůvky, Postoupky and Hradisko the southwest, Bezměrov and Plešovec in the west and Hrad and Chropyně in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Cassiz took place in 1267 in the will Bruno of Petersburg. It bequeathed to the bishop that pertains to him the village of Church of St. Maurice and the collegiate chapters in Kremsier. In 1290 the village as Kaschiz 1327 as Skacich, 1405 Skaštic, 1406 as Kasczics and 1489 was referred to as Skaštice. The oldest town seal is from 1684 and bears the inscription OBECZNY * PECZET * DIEDINI * KASSTICZ * 1684th gepfarrt was the site has always been jeh to the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kremsier. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the episcopal rule Kremsier remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Skaščice / Skaschitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Kremsier. Today's local name Skaštice place since 1872 use. 1895 a new school house was inaugurated; it is now used as a nursery, gym, library and doctor's surgery. With the beginning of 1986 Skaštice was incorporated into Kroměříž. On February 28, 1990 Skaštice broke again from Kroměříž and formed its own community. Since 2004 Skaštice leads a coat of arms and banners. Ethnographic the village belongs to Hanna.

Attractions

  • Branch Church of Sts. Florian was built in 1873 to designs by the architect Kremsier Havlín instead of a chapel built in 1856. It was rebuilt in 1971 according to the requirements of Vatican II and is owned by the community.
