Skimboarding is a water sport that is based on the principle of liquid friction between surfaces of different speeds (3rd area in the Stribeck curve). Not quite correct, but it has become the sport due to the principle of aquaplaning. As a sports equipment - Skimboard called - is a flat disc that has an approximately oval shape and is slightly curved towards to the outer sides upwards. It consists mostly of wood, which is depending on the price range of varying quality. Here it is crucial how the individual layers of wood are glued and which glaze (eg resin ), the board as a sealer. On this board of sportsmen on the surface of shallow water in the outlet region of the surf tries to slide.
