Å koda 7Ev

Škoda 7eV is the model designation for a series niederfluriger electric trains for regional services by Czech manufacturer Škoda Vagonka.

Launch customer for these vehicles is the Czech railway company České Railways ( ČD ), which ordered a total of 19 trainsets of different configuration in 2011. The first two prototypes were presented on November 3, 2011 in Plzeň to the public at the headquarters of Škoda.

Technical Features

The smallest operational unit of the series 7eV consists of two close-coupled railcars, each at one end only have a cab. Configurations are possible as two -, three - and four-part unit. In a promotional brochure also five - and six -piece configurations are called. 65 percent of the passenger compartment are running low floor. The entrance height of the low -floor entrances is sized at 550 mm above rail level.

The car body is made up on the cabs of large area drawn aluminum profiles. Each rail car has an engine and a bogie. The three-phase traction motors of the type Škoda ML 3942 K / 4 have a capacity of 340 kW. The recovery of braking energy to the catenary is provided. The electric and pneumatic equipment was placed on the roof.

Orders

So far, only the ČD vehicles of the type 7eV have ordered. On January 14, 2011, ČD ordered a total of 15 three-part and four two-piece trains for 2.511 billion Kč. 40 percent of the purchase price will be financed through a regional support program of the European Union. The vehicles will be delivered in the period from the second half of 2012 until the end of 2014 at the ČD. ČD market the new vehicles under the name "Regio Panter ". In September 2012, the prototype was 440 001 issued at InnoTrans in Berlin. Since autumn 2012, the new vehicles are coming on the line U1 ( Decin hl.n. - Most) planned for use.
