Skógafoss

The Skógarfoss [' Skou ː ˌ fɔs a ː ] ( Forest Waterfall ) is a waterfall of the river Skoga in southern Iceland. It is located at the place Skógar in the community Rangárþing eystra below the Eyjafjallajokull on a former cliff.

After the coastline had shifted to the south, was hundreds of miles, a steep drop from the Icelandic highlands towards the sea left.

The Skógarfoss pours At such a location over a width of 25 meters, 60 meters in depth.

On the eastern side of the waterfall leads a famous trekking path, Laugavegur up to the pass Fimmvörðuháls and on about the Þórsmörk to Landmannalaugar.
