Skövde HF

Skövde HF (Skövde Handbollsflickor, German: Handball girls Skövde ) is a Swedish handball club from Skövde. Play their home games, the club from the Arena Skövde.

History

The club was founded in 1949 by Herman Somby. In club soccer as well for women was offered.

1950/51 first season was in handball. 1956/57, the club played in Division 2, the rise in the Allsvenskan succeeded in 1962 /63. After the second place in the 1988/89 season to qualify for the highest Swedish league, the Elitserien, was missed. In the 1990/91 season, the team lost the playoff against Spårvägen. Also in 1991/92 they lost in the playoffs. After the second place in the Allsvenskan in season 1995/96, then reached the summit in the Elitserien, where you finished 7th in the first season. After the 1999/2000 season the team got down, in the following season but back on.

In the 2004/05 season the team lost the final of the Swedish championship against Skuru IK before 12,000 spectators at the Stockholm Globe with 23:24 ( 10:13 ). 2005/ 06 was the team's series winner and lost the final in front of 10,132 spectators in the Scandinavium Gothenburg against IK Sävehof with 21:22 after extra time. Also in the 2006/07 season was the team in the final of the Swedish Championship, again they lost against IK Sävehof in Globes: 10,112 spectators saw a 27:29 ( 14:12) after extra time. Only in the 2007/ 08 season the team from Skövde succeeded in winning the championship. Before the Scandinavium 11,456 they won against IK Sävehof with 31:24 ( 13:11).
