Company History
By 1989 there were in the Warsaw Pact countries mainly government agencies, such as Intertext in the GDR. After the turn in the Czech Republic Pavel Skrivanek recognized the new opportunities on the Eastern European market and in 1994 founded the Překladatelský Skřivánek servis, sro ( Translation Services Skrivanek ). Within a few years the company has been in the Czech Republic the market leader in translation services. It has evolved into a leading translation and localization service provider in Central and Eastern Europe.
On the drawn up by Common Sense Advisory for 2007 ranking of translation agencies Skrivanek takes the 20th place in terms of sales worldwide, according to the number of stores the first place. In the Czech Republic is Skřivánek sro leader with 19 offices.
In 2002, the company passed the examination for the EN ISO 9001:2001 certificate, which is renewed annually by the TÜV Nord. The company is the official supplier of the European Union (CCR CZE - 23379 ).

The Berlin branch was founded in late 2004 by the current general manager of the group, Steinmetzova, and established himself on the German market as a specialist in Central and Eastern European languages and Asian languages. From autumn 2005, when Steinmetzova the leadership of the group in Prague took over until the end of 2008, the company was led by the Belgian to Stuyven. In December 2008, they took over the leadership of the Department of Global Sales & Marketing ( Western Europe and North America) and since then, Astrid Hager is the director of the Berlin office.
Company founder Pavel Skřivánek
Pavel Skřivánek was born in Vyškov 1968. He studied in Prague and Vienna and at the University of Economics in East Berlin. In 1992 he graduated as an engineer in the economy. In 1994, he founded the company under the company name " Překladatelský Skřivánek servis, sro " based in Vyškov. Under his leadership, the company expanded to the Czech market. In the second half of the 1990s saw the move abroad. Since 2005 General Manager Steinmetzova has largely taken over the daily operations of Pavel Skřivánek.
