Slacker Uprising is a movie about a campaign tour of Michael Moore. She led him in 2004 within 42 days through 63 cities in either decisive U.S. states to the 18 - to convince to 29 year olds to go to the polls.

The film is a revised version of Captain Mike Across America, which was listed on the Toronto International Film Festival 2007. The world premiere of Slacker Uprising took place on 18 September 2008 at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, Michigan, instead.

It is one of the first movies that have been published as a free download. The free download is only available to residents of the U.S. and Canada since 23 September 2008. At the same time the movie until the end of 2008 is also available as streaming. Motivation for this offer was the hope Moores to move in this way millions of new and young voters for the election on November 4, 2008. On DVD, the film was released in October 2008.

Slacker Uprising includes appearances by Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam ), Roseanne Barr, Tom Morello ( Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave ), Viggo Mortensen and others.
