Slavkovský štít

Slavskovský stit of Lomnicke saddleback ( Lomnitz - saddle) as seen

The Slavkovsky stit ( German Slavkovský peak, Hungarian Nagyszalóki - Csúcs ) is a 2452 m nm high mountain in the High Tatras in Slovakia.

The Slavkovsky stit is located above the village Stary Smokovec. It is named after the town of Velky Slavkov (Eng. United Schlagendorf ), on whose land was once the mountain. To the north of the mountain is the valley Velka Studena Dolina ( Great German Kohlbachtal ).

The first known ascent was made in 1664 by a group led by Georg Buchholtz. Today, the mountain is popular with tourists because it can be achieved as one of the highest Tatra mountains without a mountain guide or climbing.

The mountain can be reached from Stary Smokovec over a blue marked path. It takes about 5:15 to go and 3:50 back, for a total of 9 hours. Also from Hrebienok, Horský hotel Hrebienok or Bilíková chata he can be reached via a red path, but the joins with the blue trail to the summit. With snow covering the road from Slavkovská Vyhliadka (1531 m nm ) is blocked.
