Sleeper (band)

Sleeper was a British independent band that was active in the 1990s and landed several hits in the UK. Louise Wener was the singer of the band. They recorded three studio albums: Smart, The It Girl and Pleased to Meet You.

Your breakthrough single Inbetweener had a memorable video with Dale Winton, who was a popular figure among students at that time. The group is closely associated with the Britpop. In 1997, when back came the popularity of Britpop waned and the audience of Sleeper. After the split of the band was Louise Wener successful novelist.

The band recorded a cover version of Atomic from Blondie, which was used in the film Trainspotting.

The original name of the band was Surrender Dorothy. They were to this name of the movie inspired Wizard of Oz.
