SÅ‚onowice, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Słonowice ( German name: Schlönwitz ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the municipality Brzeżno ( Briesen ) in a circle Schivelbein.

Geographical Location

Słonowice located eight kilometers south of Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) in the province road No. 151 Świdwin - Łobez ( Labes ). The place is in the northwest of the shelf, to the southeast of the Stara Rega (Fuchs flow ), which flows into the Rega. Słonowice is located on 42 acres of Jez. Słonowice ( Schlönwitzer sea), and the highest elevation in the city is the so -called in German time Mildeberg 140 meters.

History

The elongated former Guts and farming village Schlönwitz is mentioned in the Book of Country Neumark 1337 as Slonewitz and belonged to the country Schivelbein. In 1487, enfeoffed Elector Johann Cicero of Brandenburg, Joachim Lieven the valley to Schivelbein with half the village Schlönwitz.

In 1736, the village has 14 farmers. 1761 was looted during the Seven Years' War by Russian troops and almost entirely destroyed.

1843 live in Schlönwitz 440 people, in 1861 there are 561 and 1939 already 594 ( in 143 households ).

The 1595.5 -acre field marrow was cultivated before the war of the two manors Dr. Kleine- Fuhrmann (810 hectares) and Pauline Perrin (270 hectares ) and 17 family farms.

On March 3, 1945 Schlönwitz was occupied by troops of the Red Army. The local population was expelled, and the village came under Polish administration. As Słonowice it is today a district of the municipality Brzeżno ( Briesen ) in the powiat Świdwiński.

With the communities Panzerin (now Polish: Pęczerzyno ) and Polchlep ( Półchleb ) formed Schlönwitz to 1945 the District Schlönwitz and belonged until 1932 to the district Schivelbein until this in the county Belgard ( Persante ) has been integrated.

Parish Church

In 1737 the church was built on three sides closed in a simple truss to Schlönwitz. The tower had to be demolished in 1850 due to disrepair. In its place, a belfry was built.

In-room amenities include a retable with rich carving ( in the middle picture the crucifixion of Jesus) from the period around 1700. He came in 1843 from St. Mary's Church of Pomerania after here, and had been bought by the brewery owner Hindenberg on an action.

The pulpit of the same time carrying five figures of the apostles, who came from a late Gothic shrine altar.

There were five wooden reliefs from about 1600 to the organ loft.

From the same period comes a 1.40 -meter-high figure of the Risen Christ.

All carvings are original once in the pilgrimage chapel at Gollen (now Polish: Góra Chełmska ) have been close to Koszalin.
