Slotsholmen is an island in the center of the Danish capital of Copenhagen, which is home to many government institutions, including the parliament ( Folketing ) and the Supreme Court in Christiansborg, ( Højesteret ), the offices of the Minister and the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance and the State Chancellery. In addition, the Royal Library, the National Archives, the former stock exchange and several museums are on the island.

With an area of ​​21 hectares, the island has 18 inhabitants (1 January 2013). It belongs to the parish municipality (Danish: Sogn ) Holmen Sogn, the office belonged to the Danish municipal reform of 1970 Harde Sokkelund Herred in the former Københavns, then to official free Københavns Kommune, which was in 2007 part of the Capital Region with the next Danish municipal reform.
