The Smallwood Reservoir is a reservoir in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located in southwestern Labrador and has an area of ​​5698 km ². The lake is also the source of the Churchill River. Unlike other reservoirs, the water is dammed up not only by a dam, but by 88 dikes with a total length of 64 km. Named is the lake in honor of Joey Smallwood. The water flows to the water power plant Churchill Falls, only at high water over the falls Churchill Falls.
