The Smidt -Arena ( 1974-2009 Wilhelm Dopatka Hall ) is a multi-purpose arena in Leverkusen. It was built in 1974 and was at that time after the Olympic Hall in Munich, the second largest Rundsporthalle Germany. It belongs to the Sportpark Leverkusen. In February 2009, the hall was renamed after the new sponsor in Smidt- Arena, where the contract was extended in 2014 to five years. She's self-proclaimed biggest Leverkusen event hall.

Equipment

The hall has a seating capacity of 3,500, 1,600 seats are permanently installed in the upper part, all other parts are variable stand mountable. The hall is used by the volleyball and handball players of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the second division basketball Bayer Giants. The Basketball Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen Giants wore their home games in the Wilhelm- Dopatka Hall. Future
