Snark sailboat

The Sunflower is a dinghy that can be transported on the roof due to their size.

The Sunflower has a lateen sail with about 5 m² sail area. The hull consists of EPS with a sheath made ​​of ABS and was unsinkable. From 1972 until the mid- 1980s, the Sunflower was sold by Snark in Hamburg. For more than 20 years, the Thuro -Plast AG in Swiss light path ( Canton St. Gallen) over the production of SNARK boats. The company also sells spare parts. The slightly larger sister models were called Wildflower and Mayflower.

Due to the large number of tens of thousands sold Sunflowers exist today (as of 2008 ), many of these dinghies. Also, there is a German Sunflower class association, the most Wameler basin of Lake Möhne organized regattas with Sunflowers annually. The regattas are usually on the first weekend in September instead of the host club YSM.
