SNCF Class BB 37000

The Alstom Prima EL3U / 4 is provided for use in freight service electric locomotive from the French family of multi-system vehicles Alstom Prima.

It was designed for the railway companies incur the lowest possible acquisition and maintenance costs. The locomotives are more compatible with other systems and can be used in three different power systems. In the SNCF they are classified as type BB 37000.

Of the 60 delivered to SNCF BB 37000 series machines of the BB 37007 had to be scrapped after an accident in 2006. Furthermore, 31 machines of the same design series E 37500 supplied to the private Veolia and CB Rail. These machines are regularly due to their multi-system capability, even with freight trains from and to Germany for use.
