Snuff (Band)

Snuff is a British punk band from London, in 1986 by Duncan Redmonds ( drums, vocals ), Simon Wells ( guitar) and Andy Crighton (bass ) was established.

History

The beginnings

In 1989, the band released their first album entitled Snuff Said ..., the band still played here ordinary punk. Then in 1991 came the album Flibbiddydibbiddydob, with the 1990 band of beaten trombonist Dan. This was followed in 1992, the album Reach and the live album Kilburn National 27/11/90.

After that the band split up in order to work on side projects. So singer Duncan played in the band Guns ' n' Wankers, where he sang and played guitar. Guns ' n' Wankers published in 1994 four EPs, which were re-released on Fat Wreck under the title For Dancing and Listening in part in the same year.

Reunification

Snuff was re-established in 1994, now with Lee M on the keyboard and Loz on guitar. In the following year the album was released Demmamussabebonk. For the Potatoes and Melons Wholesale Prices Straight from the Lock Up published in 1997 Lee B replaced the now deceased Andy on bass. The band even made ​​the jump to Fat Wreck Chords, whose owner Fat Mike is considered to be a big fan of the band. Music style

The music of Snuff changed greatly over the years. More and more different styles, such as reggae, dub and folk have been integrated into the sound. The line-up also changed by the addition of other instruments (especially wind instruments and Hammond organ, which was usually played by a guest musician Lee Murphy) constantly. Around 2000, consisted of seven snuff band members. As influences, the band are also so many musicians such as the Small Faces, The Damned, Twisted Sister, Bootsy Collins and Public Enemy.

Other projects

In addition to Guns ' n' Wankers, there are other side projects. So Duncan Redmonds published in tandem with his main band songs under the name Billy No Mates. He was also a guest on a Dogpiss album. Currently, Duncan is a drummer with the Toy Dolls on tour.
