Snuppy

Snuppy is the abbreviation for " Seoul National University Puppy " and refers to an Afghan Greyhound cloned by a team of scientists under the direction of the later of forgery accused veterinarian Hwang Woo -suk of South Korea, and on 24 April 2005 by a Labrador Retriever bitch was thrown. His genetic information comes from skin cells of an ear of his father. A total of 1095 embryos were implanted into the uterus of 123 females, according to which there were three pregnancies. However Snuppy is the only survivor; one of his (potential) siblings died in a miscarriage, and the other puppy died shortly after birth from pneumonia.

After receiving notice of a forgery scandal surrounding Hwang Woo -suk of the year 2005 /06 also came to doubt whether Snuppy was really cloned. In March 2006, however, the U.S. National Human Genome Research Institute confirmed the correctness of the information on its origin.
