So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes is the seventh studio album by the American punk rock band NOFX. It was released on 11 November 1997 by Epitaph Records.

Overview

The title is a reference to a common at punk rock shows tradition, where the fans have lost the shoes, the band members, for example, the stage diving, throw back to the stage. He also alludes to the fourth book of the four -part trilogy in five volumes, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.

The album was recorded at the Motor Studios in San Francisco in August 1997 by Fat Mike and the Fat Wreck Chords - producer Ryan Greene. In the songbook can be found instead of photos of the real band members each have a photo of a member of another band. Fat Mike was by Serge Verkhovsky, bassist of the band Limp, El Hefe Otis Bartholomeou, singer and guitarist with Fluf, Eric Melvin ( or just " Melvin " ) of " Little Joe", a roadie of the band Swingin ' Utters, and Erik Sandin ( listed as " Smelly " ) by Chuck Platt, bassist replaced at Good riddance.
