I Heard They Suck Live

Occupation

I Heard They Suck is the first live album by the American punk rock band NOFX. It was released in 1995 on Fat Wreck Chords.

Origin and background

According to the singer Fat Mike ( Mike Burkett bourgeois ) written liner notes, the band due to the large number of live bootlegs decided to release an official live album. The suppliers of these bad sounding bootlegs would make a lot of money, according to Fat Mike. From 7 to January 9, 1995, the band played three concerts at The Roxy club and rented for $ 3,000 a mobile recording studio. In the liner notes Fat Mike wrote that the exact recording location remains undisclosed, as the owners demanded money for the mention of the name. The recordings from the first concert were discarded because the musicians were too drunk that night. Finally, recordings were used from the second and third concert for the album. Recorded and mixed I Heard They Suck Live was by Ryan Green, while Eddie Schreyer took over the mastering. Nothing But A Nightmare ( Sorta ) is an unsuccessful, according to Fat Mike cover version of a Rudimentary Peni - song.
