Social Renewal Party (Angola)

The Partido de Renovação Social (Party of Social Renewal ) is a political party founded in 1991 in Angola. It has its main base not in a social population, but finds the greatest support from the ethnicity of Chokwé. In the parliamentary elections in 1992 the party won 2.27% of the vote and six seats in the National Assembly of Angola. 1999, there was intra-party conflicts that led to the expulsion from the party of 4 of its 8 MPs.
