Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States

The Society for Electro -Acoustic Music in the United States ( SEAMUS ) is a specialized, non-profit 1984 U.S. organization whose mission is the promotion of electro-acoustic music.

Starting in 1987, a year known as the Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded. Are hereby acknowledged persons who have contributed significantly to the development of electro-acoustic music.

Among the previous winners can be found, among others, the German music theorist and composer Herbert Brno, the inventor of the Moog synthesizer Robert Moog, as well as the guitarist Les Paul, who was instrumental in the development of modern recording techniques.
