Society of Architectural Historians

The Society of Architectural Historians ( SAH) is an international association of historians of architecture with a focus in the United States.

The Company was incorporated on 31 July 1940 as the Society of American Historians Architectural and was based on the work of Kenneth John Conant at Harvard. 25 founding members chose Turpin Bannister 's first president and helped him with the task, a journal of the American Society of Architectural Historians surrendered. Ten years later, the name of the association received its present form. The SAH is currently with about 3,500 members the largest appropriate academic organization in the United States.

The Association publishes a newsletter and the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians. It also awards numerous prizes. A similar organization in the UK is the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain.
